FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: steel for needle wire has, in mass carbon 0.95-1.04; manganese 0.15-0.35; silicon 0.15-0.35; chrome - 0.20-0.30; nickel 0.05-0.25; copper 0.15-0.25; sulfur - 0.001-0.007; phosphor 0.003-0.015; vanadium 0.06-0.10; nitrogen - 0.005-0.015; iron the rest. Method of steel for needle wire production provides for steel smelting, casting, ingot hot rolling, wire drawing, thermal treatment. Steel for needle wire, using electroslagging remelt is remelted. Annealing of converting size wire before its final calibrating breaking down is exercised under temperature of 690-710 C. EFFECT: increased efficiency. 2 cl, 1 tbl
