SUBSTANCE: method provides for hydrogenation of corresponding substances in alcohols during their contact with co-settled recovered catalyst, that has copper, aluminum and metal, chosen from group, that has magnesium, zinc, titanium, zirconium, tin, nickel, cobalt, and their mixtures. Recovery is exercised with heating in presence of recovering gas in conditions of activation, that are characterized by step by step rising of temperature from initial value (40-75 C) to final value around 150 250 C.
