DEVICE FOR MEASURING FLOW RATE OF WATER IN RIVER FROM RUNNING VESSEL Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: measuring flow rate of water in average and large rivers from running vessel. SUBSTANCE: vessel carries winch with outrigger 4 which is connected with streamlined weight by means of flexible rope 3. Streamlined weight is provided with stabilizer 2 for stabilizing its position in water. Secured to the weight is antenna unit 5 on which the following components are secured: transducer 6 of meter of sound velocity in water, hydrometric impeller 9 with contact unit, echo sounder transducer 10 and four transducers 11-14 (two of them are not shown) of Doppler log. When vessel is running across river, electric signals generated by sensors are furnished via cable 29 to computer 15 carried on board. Computer 15 realizes integral dependence of received signals in time function and shows measured flow rate of water on indicator. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measurement of flow rate. 4 cl, 3 dwg
