FIELD: SHIP BUILDING.
SUBSTANCE: method of defining the stream velocity based on the Doppler effect and measuring the ship speed relative to the bottom consists in a time-separation of receiving the bottom and volume reverberation using a time gating. Thereafter, the medium spectra of the said signals are recorded and frequency difference is determined. From the frequency difference the stream velocity is derived.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of the stream velocity determination.
