FIELD: testing of building elements; inspection of welded joints for strength under three-axis loading. SUBSTANCE: cross-shaped specimen for assessing strength of welded joints of building elements has working part 1 accommodating welded joints and four coupled symmetrical gripping parts 4-7 with slits 8-11 running from their ends. Welded joints are located between edges of linear slits 10,11 and spaced apart by central slit; their length is same as that of flanges of T-shaped slits 8,9. Specimen is tested by its loading with forces P and T acting in three axes. EFFECT: provision for simulating working conditions of butt-welded joints in linings of protective structures of power-generating equipment under three-axis loading conditions. 4 dwg
