FIELD: determination of elements in aqueous solutions containing chloride ions. SUBSTANCE: device for determination of concentration of ions of heavy and toxic elements has flow-through cell and working electrode. comparison electrode and auxiliary electrode, measuring unit and recording device and additional container located ahead of flow-through cell made in form of hollow body with inlet and outlet holes. Container diameter exceeds that of cell. Located on external surface of container is outer oxidation electrode with respective current source, outer reduction electrode, two potentiostats, switch, timer, outer metering electrode of standard element with respective current source and gas collector. Installed inside body, successively, one after another are inner oxidation electrodes, electrode of the first shield, the first reduction electrode, comparison electrode, the second reduction electrode, electrode of the second shield and inner metering electrode of standard element. In this case, oxidation electrode is connected with positive pole of current source of oxidation electrode whose negative pole is connected with outer oxidation electrode. Grounded inner electrode of the first shield is located between inner oxidation electrode and inner reduction electrode connected with one output of switch whose other output is connected with the second reduction electrode. Comparison electrode is connected with closed-on-themselves control inputs of the first and second potentiostats whose first outputs are closed and connected with outer reduction electrode, and the second outputs are connected to inputs of switch whose control input is connected with timer. Grounded inner electrode of the second shield is located between the second reduction electrode and inner metering electrode of standard element connected with positive pole of current source of metering electrode whose negative pole is connected with outer metering electrode of standard element. Container body has hole for accommodation of ion-exchange membranes of oxidation and reduction electrodes and metering electrode of standard element and also channel communicated with hollow of gas collector.
