PONTOON ELEMENT Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: crossing facilities. SUBSTANCE: pontoon element is composed of two interhinged extreme and two central pontoons equipped with interlink mounting joints put on transoms. Characteristic feature of this pontoon element lies in fabrication of one of pontoon transoms with smooth lines. Central pontoons are fitted with covers mounted for turning about axes perpendicular to longitudinal axes of pontoons equal in width to pontoons and manufactured in the form of triangle prism. One side face of prism in lower position of cover and other one in upper position of it are continuation of smooth lines of central pontoons and third face is provided with interlink mounting joints. Extreme pontoons are fitted with splash panels rotary relative to wheel guards attached to walls on sides of smooth lines. EFFECT: increased efficiency of pontoon element by way of possibility of its use in bow part of shuttle ferry. 2 cl, 9 dwg
