FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: waste of liquid-phase oxidation of alkylaromatic hydrocarbon contains organometallic compounds, inert material, oxygen and catalyst. Catalyst: metal oxides of transient group. The waste is subjected for liquid-phase catalytic oxidation in the presence of oxygen, catalyst and inert material at the temperature 400 C (not below) in reactor with nonsteady-state layer of inert material. Catalyst: cobalt and manganese oxides obtained in this process. The total content of cobalt and manganese oxides at inlet to reactor is maintained at the level 1 wt.-% not less.
