FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of synthesis of methanol that is used in the field of basic organic synthesis. Method involves contact of gaseous mixture containing carbon oxides and hydrogen with copper-containing catalyst at 190-290 C, under pressure 5.0-10.0 MPa and volume rate 4 500-100 000 ch-1. The parent gaseous mixture containing 1.0-33.7 vol.% of carbon oxide, 0.3-22.5 vol.% of carbon dioxide in volume ratio of hydrogen to sum of carbon oxides = 1.91-5.60 and 0.5-50.0 vol.% of nitrogen also is passed through cascade of flow-type reactors for a single stage.
