FIELD: artillery shells featured by provision of a shaped or high-explosive charge and tail opening after the shell leaves the barrel. SUBSTANCE: shell has a nose, body with guide band, tail assembly consisting of a contracting and at least one cylindrical sections, and tail. Positioned on the contracting section of the tail assembly between the guide band and tail is an additional stabilizing member having an annular surface facing the shell bottom perpendicularly to its axis. The relation between the areas of shell midship section and annular surface does not exceed 5. The stabilizing member can be made as a groove or shoulder, or ring on the contracting part.
