FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: leak-tight nickel-hydrogen cell has nickel oxide positive electrodes electrically coupled by means of asbestos electric carrier to negative hydrogen electrodes composed of metal-ceramic-nickel base with porosity 20-30% and thickness 40.0-120.0 μm, hydrophobized platimun-palladium active layer 1.0-10.0 thick on which surface fluoroplastic layer having thickness 0.25-5.0 μm presenting alternating hydrophobized sections and hydrophilic channels with outlet to surface of fluoroplastic layer is deposited. Surface of metal-ceramic nickel base is produced in the form of relief cellular grid with area of surface of cells amounting to 75-80% area of base with depth of cells amounting to 16.7-50.0% of thickness of base but not less than 0.02 mm and distance between cells 0.05-0.3 mm. Active layer with fluoroplastic layer deposited on its surface is placed in cells of relief grid. Base of metal-ceramic nickel base has direct contact with electric carrier and its surface with gas separator. EFFECT: facilitated manufacture, enhanced operational characteristics. 3 dwg
