FIELD: electrical engineering; nickel - hydrogen cells. SUBSTANCE: porous nickel base is filled with nickel hydroxide and then is discharged in potassium hydroxide solution by currents of 100-200 mA/cm2, washed and subjected to cathodic polarization at 80-81 C, pH=2-4 for 5-8 min with current of 10-30 mА/cm2 in solution containing cobaltous nitrate, 0.1 mole/lit to saturation, cobaltous sulfate, 0.2 mole/lit to saturation, ethyl alcohol 4.5-5.5 mole/lit and the rest - water to get 1 lit of solution.
