FIELD: electrical engineering; submersible electric motors and their protection. SUBSTANCE: artificial center point is made in motor head by connecting three resistors into star. Resistance of resistors is equal to trips value of setting resistance in insulation monitoring unit in control station. Thermal switch located in motor head is connected to frame by one of its terminals. Violation of temperature conditions causes operation of thermal switch and, as a result, circuit resistance at input of insulation monitoring unit becomes less than setting resistance. Insulation monitoring unit sends signal to switch off submersible motor. When stator winding temperature becomes normal, motor is switched on automatically.
