FIELD: petrochemical industry. SUBSTANCE: in order to prevent polymerization of vinyl aromatic compounds during their storage, transportation and preparation, an inhibitory mixture is added. The mixture comprises 0.1-1000 ppm of hydroxylamine derivatives, 0.1-1000 ppm of aminophenol and 0.05-500 ppm of aliphatic C10-C20 carboxylic acid. The mixture shows a synergetic effect.
