FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to inhibition and slowing down polymerisation of ethylene unsaturated monomers. Described is a method of inhibiting and slowing down premature polymerisation and growth of a polymer chain of ethylene unsaturated monomers, involving addition to the said monomers of an effective amount of at least one inhibitor which is a sulphonated nitrophenol of formula 1, where R1, R2 and R3 are independently selected from a group consisting of hydrogen, hydrocarbon, NO2 and SO3H, under the condition that, at least one R1, R2 and R3 is NO2, and at least one of R1, R2 and R3 is SO3H. Also described is a method of inhibiting and slowing down premature polymerisation and growth of a polymer chain of ethylene unsaturated monomers, involving addition to the said monomers of an effective amount of combination (A) of at least one inhibitor, which is a sulphonated nitrophenol of formula 1, where: R1, R2 and R3 are independently selected from a group consisting of hydrogen, hydrocarbon, NO2 and SO3H, under the condition that, at least one of R1, R2 and R3 is NO2, and at least one of R1, R2 and R3 is SO3H; and (B) at least one second inhibitor selected from a group consisting of nitroxyl compounds, nitrosoanilines, nitrophenols, amines and their mixtures.
EFFECT: obtaining highly effective and cheap polymerisation inhibitor for ethylene unsaturated compounds.
