FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: variator has driving a shaft- carrier with parallel satellite units provided on spring suspensions. The units have intermediate gears engaging with toothings of the satellite units and gear wheel of the driving shaft and central wheel made up as two cylinders having oppositely directed threads and spring- loaded with reactive moment. The carrier has torsion, arm-handle for manual rotation, and remote control unit for controlling magnitude of the satellite pressing. In addition, the slide of the pedal has a locator to fix intermediate positions. The conical side of the rings of the central wheel have spiral grooves which point outward in the direction of rotation of the shaft-carrier. EFFECT: improved design. 11 cl, 8 dwg
