FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: variable-speed chain drive gearing has body, tapered halt-pulleys with radial teeth moving in axial direction, chain, and mechanism of axial displacement of tapered half-pulleys. Prismatic rests of chain are arranged in hinged rollers of chain. They are capable of spring-loaded axial turning and longitudinal displacement. Turning of blades of prismatic rests in process of running around working diameters of tapered half-pulleys by chain links compensates for unbalance of peripheral velocities of prismatic rests created by range of contacting working diameters of tapered half-pulleys.
