FIELD: check of physical-mechanical properties of materials. SUBSTANCE: method is based on using the electroacoustic hardness gauge at frequency dependence conversion of information. Characteristic permanent parameters of conversion obtained anew are determined through calibration. Hardness and modulus of elasticity are determined by derived analytical expressions on basis of obtained parameters of conversion, known rheological laws peculiar to materials under test and on results of measurement of resonance frequency of penetrated indenter in free-running operation under load. Method is invariant to effective artefacts of check, algorithms of conversion and adaptation to conditions of measurement are strictly formalized and are easily synthesized on modern microprocessor information base. Device for realization of this method is made on principle of multi-channel program-controlled measuring computing hardness metering complex. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 6 cl, 8 dwg
