FIELD: measurement technology; non-destructive material testing. SUBSTANCE: method involves excitative penetrated indenter at its resonant frequency by means of harmonic test signal of constant amplitude. Microhardness and modules of elasticity of specimens under test are calculated by applying formulas to the results of measurement of the indenter velocity oscillation amplitude in the steady state mode and to the resonance frequency of these oscillation. Excitation force amplitude is under continuous control. Its real values are substituted into the obtained formulas to ensure the influence exerted over the measurement results by residual instability of exciting test force amplitude to be taken into consideration. To put the method into practice, the known electroacoustic durometer device is modified by additionally introducing a strain gage mounted in the rod cross-section notch, high frequency filter. frequency meter, computing unit and the second indication unit with their original connections. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in determining rheological parameters of materials with unknown elastic properties. 2 cl, 1 dwg
