FIELD: rolling of metals on continuous section mills. SUBSTANCE: angle pieces are formed from a heated blank in the system of roughing and finishing passes of a continuous section mill. These pieces are rolled in a prefinishing angle pass and fed into the angle pass of a finishing stand by means of entry guide. The lower inlet guide of the latter carries a horizontal roller positioned in close proximity to the stand rolls. The horizontal roller has limiting collars on its ends and a central recess whose shape is equidistant from the lower roll profile. The distance L between the axis of lower roll and horizontal roller is governed by the relation L C(d + D)/2 where C 1.05-1.15 is the proportionality coefficient, d and D are, respectively, diameters of horizontal roller and lower roll. The prefinished piece is passed into finishing angle pass for each profile-size with a replaceable horizontal roller. The distance between the collars of the horizontal roller used for rolling a certain profile-size is equal to the width of the prefinished piece of the given profile-size in the middle portion of the strip along its length. When passing onto the horizontal roller of the guide, the wider front end of the prefinished piece is bent and the angle between the flanges of the rolled piece moves in a vertical direction. When the rolls of the finishing stand bite the front end of the rolled piece, the horizontal roller whose collar-to-collar distance is equal to the width of the prefinished piece of the given profile-size in the middle part of the strip along its length completes stabilizing the position of the piece being fed into the pass and begins stabilizing the geometrical parameters of the piece, i.e. begins squeezing the angle piece across its width, in the direction in which the piece dimensions are not stable on the continuous rolling mill.
