FIELD: production of high-purity zirconium compounds by halogenation of zirconium concentrate. SUBSTANCE: method for processing of zirconium concentrate includes fluorination of zirconium concentrate with subsequent desiliconization of fluorinated product in air-free atmosphere or in inert atmosphere at temperature of 330-650 C, heating of desiliconized product in air-free or in inert atmosphere at 900-1000 C for 4-5 h. Zirconium tetrafluoride is separated by condensation at temperature of 250-850 C from which silicon dioxide is obtained by pyrohydrolysis. Method provides for production of commercial by-product silica white. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 2 dwg
