FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus comprises two vertical drums, cutting and counter-cutting ones. The latter is of cylindrical shape with circular slots and gripping projections on the surface. The cutting drum is made of tiered disc cutters, each positioned opposite the circular slot of the counter-cutting drum. The cutting edges of the disc cutters are sharpened at an angle of 20-25 deg and enter 3-4 mm deep into the circular slots. EFFECT: higher quality of cutting the cotton stalks. 2 dwg
