CASSETTE-TYPE HIVE Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: apiculture. SUBSTANCE: hive is made as a vertical body with frames installed on guide cassettes. It has an under-cassette section accommodating a box with a removable ventilation panel. A removable drawout tray disposed between the bottom of the under-cassette section and the removable panel is designed for discharge of wax crumbs. The rear end of the tray is provided with a strip for covering the upper opening between the drawout tray and the rear wall of the box. The height of the side walls of the under-cassette section is smaller than that of a single cassette. The space between the overlying cassette and the under-cassette section is closed by a protective cover to prevent access of rodents. Access to any one bee family is through the under-cassette section. The latter arrests the moisture liberated by the lower family and keeps moist air from getting into the overlying families. The upper surface of all separating panels is covered with a warmth- keeping material. EFFECT: improved design. 2 cl, 4 dwg
