FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: sand trap is made as two cylindrical sedimentation tanks whose diameter is directly proportional to the pressure of the waste water created by the pumping plant. Due to the tangential arrangement of delivery pipelines, the vortex-like motion of the waste water inside the sedimentation tank and its notion according to the spiral occur on the generatrix of the tank walls. A sloped plate is fastened on the tank bottom opposite the hole of the air-lift pipe being in communication with the cavity of the sand bunker. The weight sensor functions after the bunker is filled with sand. The bunker is isolated from the sedimentation tank and is in communication with the source of compressed air which blows out the sand along the pipeline on to the platform for the sand storage.
