FIELD: cleaning natural water and sewage from sand and other mineral admixtures. SUBSTANCE: sand trap has cylindrical housing with chute located in its upper peripheral zone; this chute is connected with supply and discharge passages. Thin-layer shelf modules are located inside chute. Housing is provided with central taper chamber where set of taper shells is arranged; these shells have varying taper angles. Water intake funnel connected with pontoon is mounted in upper portion along axis of central chamber. Flow distributor made in form of shutters is mounted in chute after supply passage. Shutters consists of swivel plates articulated to frame. EFFECT: increased productivity (by 20 to 25%); enhanced reliability; increased amount of entrapped sand. 7 dwg
