FIELD: chemical treatment of metal products. SUBSTANCE: method involves cleaning optical surfaces of products made from metals and alloys, preferably working in gas discharge medium, by soaking products in azeotropic mixture on freon base; treating optical surface of product with aliphatic alcohol, preferably ethanol, solution of benzotriazol in solvent and drying in inert gas flow. Soaking of products in azeotropic mixture is conducted at room temperature. Acetone and ethanol are preferably used for treating with solution of benzotriazol in solvent.
