FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method for separation of bismuth from lead includes anode dissolution of lead-bismuth alloy in two-cell electrolyzer with diaphragm in electrolyte containing 50-400 g/l of sodium or aluminium nitrate. Anode current density is 500-2500 A/sq.m. Concentration of nitric acid in anode cell is 1-7% and concentration of sodium hydroxide in cathode cell is 0.5-12% Bismuth slime formed in anode cell is separated from electrolyte and dissolved in nitric acid. Bismuth salts or oxide is obtained from produced solution by the known method. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 tbl
