FIELD: timber industry. SUBSTANCE: device is provided with a chain saw drive with a sprocket. The drive is mounted in the device body. An attachment for positioning the chain saw runs in different planes is mounted on the device body. The device is provided with at least one roller. The attachment has lower and upper plates, and the roller is linked to one of the plates by means of a slewing boom provided with a retainer. The roller is located on the side opposite to the cutting parts of the saw between the sprocket and crossing point of the chain saw runs.
