FIELD: sewing machines. SUBSTANCE: zigzag sewing machine has needle holder installed for sliding in two supports whose outer surface is of spherical profile and which enters respective landing places of additional profile made in fixed support for upper support and in movable lever for lower support. Movable lever alternately turns in two opposite directions under the action of step motor to ensure direct connection with movable lever by means of gear meshing with periphery ring gear which is located on movable lever. Motor, fixed support, movable lever, supports and needle holder form independent and removable unit. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 18 cl, 11 dwg
