FIELD: butter industry. SUBSTANCE: device for separating hard impurities out of liquid medium, for the most part vegetable oil, has cylindrical housing with ring-shaped projection and flange for attaching to pump. The unit for separating hard impurities is made in the form of bar member located on cylindrical housing and bent as spiral with gap between its loops. The outlet branch pipe is made in the form of central located channel with lateral holes. The inlet branch pipe is formed by the loops of bar member. Movable thrust bushing located on cylindrical housing is mounted in the device. The cylindrical housing is made step-like. The spiral loops of bar member of separation unit are placed between ring-shaped projection and movable thrust bushing forming cavity for the purified liquid medium between step-like surface of cylindrical housing and spiral loops. The cavity is in communication with outlet branch pipe. The unit for changing the gap value between spiral loops of bar member is mounted on cylindrical housing behind movable thrust bushing.
