FIELD: arc welding. SUBSTANCE: arc is excited between electrode and welded article and weldpool is formed into which filling wire is fed with rate exceeding its melting rate in zone of arc. As filling wire passes through arc zone a drop of molten metal is formed on its front end. Since feeding rate of wire exceeds that of its melting molten metal in the form of drop passes through arc zone reaches surface of weldpool. At moment of contact of drop with surface of weldpool rate of feed of filling wire is reduced to value less than its melting rate in arc zone. Then drop passes into weldpool with formation of bridge of molten metal. For the time of passing of drop into weldpool rate of feed of wire is decreased and after transfer of drop into weldpool and formation of gap between front end of wire and weldpool feed of wire is renewed with initial rate.
