FIELD: welding. SUBSTANCE: device for pipe centering during butt-welding has guideway with centering groove for pipes, handles 3 with supports placed in centering groove of guideway and equipped on helical part with square nuts 4 interacting with clamps. Dismountable movable clamps 2 in the form of bracket with the central cutting are mounted on centering groove. The guideway assembled with handle 3 and washer 4 is supplied under centered pipes. Then clamps 2 are led in by turns from both sides of guideway and the pipes are lightly fixed. After that the joined pipes are supplied with face ends till support and are fixed finally. The arc ignition can be carried out indirectly from guideway if it is made of copper. EFFECT: enhanced quality. 1 cl, 5 dwg
