FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: eight gears freely mounted on gearbox shafts provide eight speeds with narrow intervals facilitating gear changing. Rear additional planetary mechanism operates at two modes: direct drive, with epicyclic wheel 17 disengaged, and differential (summing up mode), when torque is applied to sun gear 14 and carrier 15 and is removed from epicyclic wheel 17. Under the second mode of operation speed and direction of rotation of driven member depend materially on difference in speeds of rotation of dividing members.
