FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: vehicle has dashboard, steering and control means installed at a distance from dashboard. The latter has compartment closed by at least one shield which accommodates protective bag made of flexible material partly impermeable to gas. Vehicle has gas source, means to connect bag to gas source and automatic device to start gas source in case of abnormal behavior of vehicle. In folded up condition bag is completely arranged inside compartment, and in inflated condition it gets out of compartment. Central portion of bag is made so that it covers practically entire dashboard, when inflated. EFFECT: enhanced protection of passengers in case of road accident. 9 cl, 8 dwg
