FIELD: storage of foodstuff. SUBSTANCE: refrigerator has condenser communicating through one liquid piping and throttling valve with evaporator connected to inlet chamber of steam jet and through other liquid piping and intermediate vessel, with steam generator connected to steam-jet operating nozzle. Condenser communicates with steam-jet diffuser through steam piping. Volume of intermediate vessel corresponds to that of steam generator; the former is at their elevation than the latter. Their spaces communicate through piping in upper and lower zones. Cold generation method of steam-jet refrigerator involves liquefaction of refrigerant vapors in condenser, throttling of one flow, liquid supply to evaporator, its boiling with heat transfer from cooled volume. Other flow of liquid is passed from condenser through intermediate vessel to steam generator wherein liquid is brought to boiling temperature to generate high-temperature energy carrier (steam) that goes to steam-jet operating nozzle and provides for inflow of low-temperature refrigerant vapor from evaporator. Refrigerant vapor goes to condenser. Liquid is fed to steam generator, energy-carrying steam is produced and fed to steam jet in three stages. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities. 3 cl, 1 dwg
