SUBSTANCE: coating comprises oxide ceramic material based on chromites of rare earth elements, iron or zirconium dioxide, at least one stabilizing addition selected from the series: oxides of titanium, aluminium, magnesium, silicon, zinc, iron, and a binder from the series of polyorganosiloxanes. The method for producing coating on surface of infrared radiator involves preparing a mixture based on oxide ceramics, applying it to the radiator surface and heat treating.
