FIELD: soil study. SUBSTANCE: soil of undamaged natural structure is sampled. Weight and initial humidity is determined. Wet soil samples are dried to air-dry condition. Then the sample is placed on a mesh of an instrument to determine soil soaking capacity. The sample is submerged in water suit for drinking with 20 C temperature. Time to soak the sample is taken down. Not less than 8 samples are tested concurrently. Then mean value of base specific time to soak is calculated for tested samples. Coefficient of soil soak quickness is determined. Then soil classifying is taken and combination of its properties is determined under formulae. Specific time to soak the sample is reduced to base one if water temperature differs from 20 C. EFFECT: increased confidence and accuracy when determining specific time to soak soils.
