FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: intake device of dredge pump unit includes casing which accommodates suction pipeline. To ensure automatic supply of slurry of optimal concentration and possibility of starting the pump when operating under heap of rocks, the device has float installed on the upper end of casing. Located between casing and suction pipeline is pipe whose upper end is plugged and the lower end is communicated with hollow of pipeline. Pipe wall has longitudinal slot. Device has two rests for interaction with each other. One of which is fastened to outer surface of lower part of pipeline, and the other one, is fastened to the inner surface of lower part of casing. Casing is locked to prevent its turning and installed for axial motion relative to pipeline and have perforations located on peripheries of casing and having the same total area perforation on each circumference with perforation hole diameter increasing from the upper to lower part of casing.
