FORAGE HARVESTER Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: forage harvester has cutterbar 2 installed on frame 1 at angle other than 90 degrees and hinge-secured -shaped knives 3 with cutting edge 4 and chamfer 5 on knife edge parallel to axis of rotation of cutterbar. Harvester has also auger and transportation device. With harvester moving in the field, trajectory of movement of each knife 3 at two adjacent turns will be displaced which provides uniform cutting of plants. EFFECT: reduced losses owing to decreased height of cutting. 2 cl, 4 dwg
