FIELD: petrochemical industry. SUBSTANCE: catalyst has following components, mass %: nickel, in terms of oxide, 6.0 - 12.1; magnesium aluminum spinel (MAS) 0.82 - 2.37; lanthanum aluminate MAS has formula: Mg1+xAl2O4+x with x = 0.05 - 0.5. in the case molar ratios of MAS and lanthanum aluminate are equaled to 1 - 1.43. As carrier catalyst preferably has aluminum alfa-oxide with 2 mass % share of lanthanium beta-alumina or 2.CaO.MgO. Catalyst is prepared using impregnation of carrier with solutions of nitric acid salts of nickel, aluminum and double nitric acid salt of lanthanium and magnesium of La2Mq3(NO3)2•24H2O formula. Then they carry out drying under temperature below smelting point of nitrates up to full removal of crystallizing water and calcinate in medium, that has mixture of reducers of methane, carbon oide and hydrogen.
