FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: method of adjustment of seal of piston in pipe-and-piston sets for cryogenic fluids consists in subsequently changing the clearance between seal and surface of pipe being sealed. Adjustment of seal of piston is first effected on test fluid whose viscosity is equal to viscosity of working fluid at normal temperature. Respective value of power consumed by piston drive is determined for each value of seal. Optimal magnitude of seal is determined by minimum magnitude of power consumed by piston drive at absence of leakage. The final adjustment is effected on working fluid till minimum magnitude of power consumed by piston drive is obtained. EFFECT: enhanced reliability.
