FIELD: physics, measurement.
SUBSTANCE: piston-pipe verifier (PPV) comprises two dosing cylinders with total piston sealing by elastic inflatable gaskets, a four-way reverse valve, two optical piston position sensors set at each cylinder, a measuring pressure difference transducer, two heat sensors, two actuators to control flow and pressure differential in the system. Cylinder chambers on the pin side are connected by a pipe and filled with operating fluid. The reverse valve is switched by the cylinder pins. Microprocessor controller (MC) with adapter modules to the sensors transforms and registers results of measuring temperature at the PPV input and output and pulse repetition interval of the turbine flow transducer (TFT) with the consideration of the unrecorded calibrated section volume parts due to time mismatching of the moments of action for the detectors of initial and end piston positions and TFT pulse meanders. The MC also generates instructions to control PPV - creates a number of stabilised flows and maintains stabilised pressure differential of the fluid in the system. At the end of the measuring cycles (1-10 s) the MC calculates TFT metrological characteristics and presents functional relation of fluid flow to frequency and its basic error as well.
EFFECT: providing for calibration of PPV in operating main, expanding the calibration range according to the flow and temperature, reducing calibration time.
