FIELD: optics. SUBSTANCE: autocorrelator has light beam splitter, line of variable optical delay, unit matching direct and delayed beams optically coupled to registration unit. Light beam splitter, line of variable optical delay and unit matching direct and delayed beams are manufactured in the form of plane-parallel birefringent plate mounted for turning about its axis perpendicular to major plane of plate. Circuit of autocorrelator is supplemented with second plane-parallel birefringent plate and two mirrors put on one optical axis. In this case major plane of second plate coincides or is perpendicular to major plane of first plate, first mirror is produced semitransparent and is set at angle to optical axis in front of plates. Second mirror is mounted behind plates perpendicular to optical axis. Second mirror is optically coupled to registration unit through first mirror. EFFECT: simplified design and adjustment of autocorrelator. 1 dwg
