FIELD: optics. SUBSTANCE: autocorrelator has light beam splitter, line of variable optical delay, unit matching direct and delayed beams optically coupled to registration unit. Light beam splitter, line of variable optical delay and unit matching direct and delayed beams are manufactured in the form of plane-parallel birefringent plate mounted for turning about its axis perpendicular to major plane of plate. Autocorrelator is supplemented with second plane-parallel birefringent plate mounted on optical axis. In this case its major plane coincides or is perpendicular to major plane of first plate. EFFECT: simplified design and adjustment of autocorrelator. 1 dwg
