FIELD: shipbuilding. SUBSTANCE: frame of oar blade is made in form of rigid framework which carries segments made in form of aircraft wing; they have varying angle of twist and thickness; leading edges of blades are brought out forward and down beyond plane of frame and slotted clearances between segments at inlet in longitudinal (lengthwise) and transverse edgewise) directions are gradually reduced towards outlet. Such construction of oar makes it possible to increase travel of sports vessel per stroke of oar due to positive displacement of blade in water (in way of ship's motion) and to enhanced efficiency of blade operation in water. EFFECT: increased speed of sports vessels and effective show of sports regatta. 4 dwg
