FIELD: heat-insulating materials. SUBSTANCE: composition has, wt.-%: clay 40-92.5; chamotte 0.5-35; superfined silicate fiber 5-15; chemically fluffed up asbestos 2-10. Composition is prepared by homogenization of components in mixer in an aqueous medium. Prepared material shows the following properties: volume mass is 350-800 kg/m3, compression strength is 8-25 kgf/cm2, heat-conductivity coefficient at 100 C and 1000 C is 0.06-0.10 and 0.15-0.18 W/m x K, respectively. Proposed heat-insulating material can be used as cardboard. EFFECT: enhanced quality of composition. 1 tbl
