PNEUMATIC SOWING MECHANISM Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: agricultural engineering; pneumatic sowers. SUBSTANCE: pneumatic sowing mechanism has seed hopper, split housing 16, cover 18 with vacuum chamber 19, sowing disk 20, flexible cover plate 21 and vacuum cutoff device. Vacuum cutoff device, in addition of main bow-shaped plate, has set of removable inserts making it possible to seal cutout in cover plate 21 within 0.37 and 0.58 of total length of cutout, starting from seed dropping zone in direction opposite to sense of rotation of sowing disk 20. Use of vacuum cutoff device without inserts provides sealing of cutout in cover plate from 0 to 12.5% of total length of cutout. Sower operates at precision seeding mode. Used in device are three different inserts: one for seeding lupine and chick peas, the other for pigeon beans and the third for seeding round seeds, for instance, peas. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities; possibility of use of sower for precision seeding of pigeon beans, chick peas, lupine and peas. 2 cl, 6 dwg
