PNEUMATIC PRUNING SHEARS Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: agricultural shearing tools; pruning of tree branches, grapevines, small-fruit bushes. SUBSTANCE: pneumatic pruning shears have plate 1 with lever 2 of shear knife rigidly secured in upper portion and pneumatic cylinder 3 secured in lower portion. Fitted in eye 6 of rod 5 is end of cutting knife lever 7. Ends of both levers are located coaxially with pneumatic cylinder. Handle is secured on plate 1 by means of brackets 8 and 9 symmetrically relative to axis of shearing. Spool unit 10 is placed inside hollow handle. When pruning the branches, operator presses on button 12 of spool unit 10, thus providing admission of compressed air into channel of double-acting cylinder. Piston 4 with rod 5 and lever 7 kinematically coupled with rod moves upwards, and cutting knife of lever 7 cuts the branch. When button is released, piston 4 with rod 5 returns lever in initial position. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 2 dwg
