FIELD: production of artificial diamonds. SUBSTANCE: carbon-containing material having predetermined shape is enclosed by powder catalyst and is affected by high temperature and pressure. Then thus treated material is allowed to stand within 1-2 s at operation temperature and is treated with mixture of nitric and hydrofluoric acid at room temperature. Mentioned above catalyst contains (mass %): tungsten carbide 60-70, titanium carbide 10-12, cobalt 2.4-2.6, zirconium 15-21, titanium boride 2.4-2.6. Rate of increasing temperature is 1400-1600 c/s. EFFECT: improves efficiency of method.
