FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to laying of refractory bricks in coke ovens of large capacity. Coke oven has ceiling made from silica and fireclay refractory materials, reinforcing members, sliding joint made between silica and fireclay refractory materials, temperature joints. Summary value of temperature joints amounts to 0.4-1.0% of axial distance between ovens and relation of height of silica layer to height of fireclay layer amounts to not more than 0.7%. Relation of silica layer to total height of oven amounts to 0.65-0.1%. EFFECT: prolonged life expectancy of ovens. 3 dwg
